Breathe with Confidence: NorthUp Sauna Delivers Clean, Safe Heat

At Purely Nomadic Sauna Co., we deliver wood-fired saunas across West Michigan to help people slow down, reset, and experience the sacred pause. A big part of that experience is knowing the air inside the sauna is clean, safe, and supports your wellness.

That’s why the recent indoor air-quality testing from NorthUp Saunas is so encouraging. Their third-party study provides a clear look at how a well-built wood-fired sauna performs under high heat—information that benefits the entire sauna community.

Here’s what the testing found:

  • 74 VOCs (volatile organic compounds) measured extremely low or undetectable

  • Carbon monoxide remained at 0 ppm, even with the wood stove running

  • Clear wall panels and materials stayed stable at temperatures above 240°F

Simply put, the NorthUp sauna demonstrated exceptional air quality and material safety, even under intense sauna conditions.

These results support what we value most at Purely Nomadic: providing a wood-fired sauna environment where you can breathe deeply, relax fully, and trust the space around you. When high-quality materials and thoughtful airflow come together, the heat stays pure—and so does the air.

So when the fire is crackling and the steam rises, you can settle in knowing the warmth is as safe as it is restorative. Clean air, clean heat, and peace of mind.
